Roundels is a series of sculptures made using donated analogue photographs, staples and glue. Each snapshot is cut into small circles, leaving only glimpses of the original image. Staples are then used to create quick, strong connections between the photos; a simple hinge that allows lightweight forms to grow and flex. The resulting collages create pointillistic 2D and 3D constellations that occupy walls, ceilings and shelves - creating a cluster of glossy micro-memories that can be read as anachronistic photo albums or subtle rhythmic scores. One could think of each completed piece as a low tech AI exercise, taking vast bits of visual information and fitting them together in an intuitive way, answering a cryptic query.

Do you have any old photographs you can't bear to throw away? Let me transform them into artwork. I am currently looking for miscellaneous photographs, any size, to use in this project. If you have anything to donate, please contact me. I'll create a little piece for you as a thank you.
